Tina Monshipour Foster is the Executive Director of the Volunteer Legal Services Project (VLSP), a non-profit organization that provides civil legal services to low-income clients in Monroe County, NY. Tina is a long-time civil rights attorney and international human rights advocate for universal access to justice. Foster is a graduate of Cornell Law School, and served as law clerk to the Hon. Delissa A. Ridgway at the United States Court of International Trade from 2000-2001. From 2001-2004, Foster was an associate at the New York office of the law firm Clifford Chance US LLP, where she practiced complex federal litigation and white collar criminal defense.

After September 11, 2001, Foster's work increasingly focused on pro bono initiatives to defend the rights of Muslim minorities who have been unfairly targeted by US national security initiatives. From November 2004 to May 2006, Ms. Foster was an attorney with the Center for Constitutional Rights, where she was a co-founder of CCR's Guantanamo Global Justice Initiative. In 2006, Foster founded the International Justice Network (IJN), a non-profit organization that provides pro bono assistance to survivors of human rights abuses and their families. Ms. Foster's work at IJN has been featured in major media outlets in the US and abroad, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Harper's Magazine, NBC's Today Show, and others.
