Liza is the Managing Attorney for the Lansing Office of Legal Services of South Central Michigan and has been with the program for 10 years, specializing in housing law. Liza graduated from The University of Michigan with a BA in political science in 2001 and received her J.D. from The University of Michigan Law School in 2004. Liza has dedicated her career to public interest, implementing innovative solutions to complex problems in poverty law. Prior to working for LSSCM, she served as the law clerk to the Honorable Richard J. Garcia and Honorable R. George Economy at the 30th Circuit Court. Liza has implemented Eviction Diversion Programs in both rural and urban counties at several district courts in Michigan. She has presented her work both regionally and nationally and consulted several other legal aid programs as they model similar programs throughout the country.
