Carla Krystyniak is a current Equal Justice Works fellow at Lone Star Leal Aid in Houston, Texas, and the lead fellow for the Disaster Recovery Legal Corps, a group of 23 attorneys across Texas and Florida, providing legal services to address the needs of survivors of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria. Before joining the Disaster Recovery Legal Corps, Ms. Krystyniak worked for the City of Philadelphia as an environmental attorney. In addition, Ms. Krystyniak provided direct services to underserved communities through her work in the Supervision to Aid Reentry (STAR) program of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and Villanova’s Interdisciplinary Health Law Clinic. Prior to law school, Ms. Krystyniak worked for nine years, primarily in the non-profit sector and has a long-term interest in public service and sustainability. Ms. Krystyniak received her J.D. from Villanova University in 2015, and her B.A. from George Washington University in 2003.
